TestFlight is a little ‘odd’.

When you upload an app to TestFlight it is (pretty much) immediately made available to any of the development team (this is optional, but I always select everyone) – {.

You can also specify a number of other testers (external to your organisation – or at least not developers) – I’ve created two groups Internal & External.

The App configured so that once it completes Apple’s (basic) testing it will automatically be distributed to the Internal group. You can the decide when we want the External group to have access to the App.

This entire process is based on different versions of the App, so, for example, we can have the External. group running a “Beta” version, but Internal running Alpha quality code.
